Senior Pastor, HFBC
Dr. Daryl J. Vining Sr. is a native of Detroit, Michigan and currently resides in Warner Robins, Georgia. Pastor Vining is married to the former Dianna Covington of Caledonia, Mississippi, and they are the proud parents of three children: Victoria, Daryl Jr., and Alexandria. He is the son of the late Elmer L. Vining Jr. and Ruby Stubbs Vining. He is the seventh of eight children. Pastor Vining is a product of the Detroit Public School system.
A graduate of Cass Technical High School, Pastor Vining participated in many extracurricular activities such as, track, wrestling, and football. Pastor Vining received the National Merit Scholarship as well as other awards for achievement in athletics and academics. He matriculated to Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Communications with a minor in Business and Marketing. While in college Pastor Vining received recognition as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America for his work with the NAACP, Police Athletic League and other community service organizations. Upon graduation, Pastor Vining accepted a position in private industry and lived in St. Paul, Minnesota as an Account Executive.
In 1990, Pastor Vining moved to Georgia and worked for several years at an insurance company as an agent, sales manager, district manager, and territory manager. During this time Pastor Vining accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in December 1992 at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church of Warner Robins, Georgia. In 1996, he accepted his calling to preach the Gospel to God’s people under the direction of his pastor the late Rev. Dr. Willie L. Reid Sr. In his capacity as an associate minister, Pastor Vining served as head of the administrative team, director of the Fellowship Christian Academy, a member of the Board of Trustees, Youth Pastor, and Outreach Minister at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. During that time, the membership of the church grew beyond 2,500 members.
In 2005, God commissioned a new work for Pastor Vining as the Co-Founder and senior pastor of the Hebron Fellowship Baptist Church of Warner Robins, GA. The initial message for Hebron was for the church to be Difference Makers for the Kingdom of God. Through the favor and grace of God, HFBC has been continually growing and dispatching disciples to share the Gospel.
As an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Pastor Vining has a strong unction to uplift and serve the community. He has served on several committees and boards throughout the community, dealing with the concerns of the homeless, mentoring the youth as well as community health issues. From 2009- 2011, Pastor Vining served as the Associational Moderator for the Rehoboth Baptist Association of Middle Georgia, the first time in its 173 year history that an African American has held that position. He was ordained in October 1999 and has completed his work on a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling, while graduating with honors.
He has completed a doctorate degree from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology through the Georgia Bible College. A dynamic and sought after lecturer and speaker, Pastor Vining‘s personal mission is to assist others in fulfilling the call that God has placed on their life and training up an army of believers in Jesus Christ who are willing to lead by example as well as by word.
