There is a battle being waged for our souls today that wants to convince us that what is wrong is right and what is right is wrong. How we approach this conflict has a direct bearing on how victory is determined. If we pursue these spiritual issues with worldly means (intellect, emotion, traditions) we are destined to be repeaters of the failings of those who have come before us. If we recognize that this battle is a spiritual one then we must deal with it by using the power that is available to us only through the Spirit of the Living God, whose Son was offered up as a ransom for our souls. Never forget that though we are in the world we are not of the world, we belong to God. When we devote ourselves to learn more about Him we will be able to answer the call to battle with the proper weapons of warfare.
The bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” One of the things that any coach of any vocation will tell you is that it is important to have a solid foundation to start from. The fundamentals or foundation, will determine how much can be built and what can be built. As a youth coach for different sports, it is more important to teach a young participant the right way to do things rather than filling them up with a lot of things to do without regard to proper technique. As a minister of the Gospel, it is imperative that the fundamentals of the faith be established in the teaching, preaching and carrying out the ministry of the church. As a child of God, it will benefit the kingdom, society and future generations for me to strive to improve my life each day according to what God’s Word says. Take advantage of this being the first day, of many, to a better and brighter future as you build on the foundation that has already been laid in Christ Jesus.
